Dr. Gillen began his professional career in Cincinnati in 1967, starting in family practice for seven years and then transitioning to comprehensive ophthalmology after completing residency in 1977. Dr. Gillen is a founding member of Eye Care Associates of Greater Cincinnati and he sees patients in Madeira.
